Interpreting in Administrative Law Proceedings

Our Certified Administrative Hearing Interpreters possess the qualifications and experience to interpret at California state agencies (i.e. Labor Relations Board, Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB), etc.) during adjudicative proceedings.

The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) has established certification for the following languages: Arabic, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. This list may change based on the need for interpreting assistance in these (or other) languages.

All of our language professionals under this category are either certified by the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) or are California certified court or registered interpreters that hold a valid certification approved by the California Judicial Council.

Language Certification Compliance

Certification establishes minimum competency standards required in certain sectors of the language industry. It not only assures that a language professional has completed all eligibility criteria and requirements to earn a specific credential in the state but that he or she possesses bilingual proficiency, cultural understanding, theoretical knowledge, and skill set needed for the job.

TLP clients are encouraged to request, at any time, proof of certification from any of the professionals we work with. For clients who are not familiar with the minimum state qualification requirements for a specific language or proceeding, TLP will assist them in choosing the right interpreter for their particular assignment.

Our Certified Administrative Hearing Interpreters are typically utilized in:

  • Depositions
  • Depo Preps
  • Deposition Reviews
  • Administrative Hearings
  • Trials
  • Compromise & Release (C&R)
  • Medical appointments / Med-Legal evaluations
